Inspired Stock Shop Member Spotlight: Ina Backbier

We love seeing how our members use our images and content in their business, as well as learning about their unique offerings and gifts.

This month, we are featuring ISS member Ina Backbier, co-founder of Mindful Creations, where the focus is making leading-edge mind-body tools.

Tell me about your business. What do you do and what do you specialize in?

I have my own practice and together with my business partner, Donna Yakibchuk, I founded in 2021 the social enterprise Mindful Creations.

At Mindful Creations, we are passionate about making leading-edge mind-body tools that increase inner resilience and agency, improve nervous system regulation, wellbeing and emotional agility by using play and creativity as powerful catalysts.

We do this by offering beautifully crafted virtual on-demand retreats of 1-1.5 hours, broken down into bite- size video sections that everyone can complete in the comfort of their own space, with only basic supplies.

Our intention is to revolutionize the concept of retreats: instead of waiting for a refuge to escape life we invite a mindset shift to strengthening and hardwiring the skills that help create a life you no longer need to escape from. What if we all learned to hold sacred space for ourselves?

It is hardwiring these skills that have not only saved my life but also helped to provide a deep sense of joy, gratitude and wonder everyday. As a single mom with two young children and entrepreneur (who also just moved continent last August), I am intimately familiar with the everyday pressures of life, but I also know that everyone can learn the skills to interrupt stress cycles, and step off ‘life’s rollercoaster’ so many experience.

I personally work with clients as a Somatic Coherence Coach and Clinical Counseling Hypnotherapist, and I am trained in transpersonal psychology, trauma-informed clinical counseling hypnotherapy, various evidence-based coaching and counseling methods, mindfulness, holistic nutrition (R.H.N.), HeartMath science-based tools and reiki.

How do you use the images from your membership in your business?

I use them on all my Facebook and LinkedIn, my website, emails, all promotional material, e-books. We use the images and videos everywhere! Both on our Mindful Creations website as well as my practice website, our newsletters, retreat videos, handouts and worksheets, promo-video, booklets and social media (LinkedIn and Facebook).

Do you have any favorite images or collections from the stock library?

I love so many of them but my personal favorite collections are Nourish Your Roots, Sacred Space, Mindful Dreams and Divine Feminine.

What’s next? Have you recently launched something or have any big plans for your business that you’d like to share?

We just launched Mindful Creations in September and now that our systems are all set up and everyone can access our retreats, we are working on the following:

  • Marketing our live retreats (virtual or in person), where beyond empowering individuals with powerful skills to access and anchor their inner resources, we foster and ignite meaningful connection and conversation between the participants.
  • Developing our next virtual retreat.
  • Exploring collaborations with other kindred souls and organizations who would benefit from support (e.g in December, we dedicated 15% per retreat sold to support WOW Toronto with expertise and resources to help women survivors of sexual assault).
  • In my own practice, I am really excited to be opening next month 4 spaces, a unique opportunity to work with me 1:1!
